30 ANA Soldiers Trapped in Tala wa Barfak District – Says MP

According to him, 8 soldiers were captured by the Taliban; but about 30 others, some injured, have taken refuge in valleys and jungles.

The head of Parliament’s Interior commission criticized the security and defense bodies, saying about 30 Afghanistan National Army (ANA) soldiers were trapped in Tala wa Barfak district of northern Baghlan province.

“A quick action needed to save them,” Mr Safi said.
Mr. Safi urged President Ghani to immediately order the Ministry of Defense to rescue these soldiers, otherwise, the morale of all the country’s security forces would be undermined.

He severely criticized the Defense Ministry, saying the soldiers were surrounded in the district for ten days and repeatedly called for airstrikes, but no airstrike took place due to the incompetence of the defense ministry and the chief of staff.
