A source under condition told 1TV that the presidential election scheduled to be held on 20 April 2019, will be held with a three-month delay.
Earlier, some political circles and analysts claimed that the government wants to push back the presidential election.

The idea to postpone the presidential election posed during the second round of US special envoy on Afghan peace Zalmay Khalilzad’s visit from Afghanistan. There were rumors that Khalilzad has asked president Ghani to delay the presidential election due to peace efforts, which was later rejected by the government.

However, the experience of the parliamentary elections indicated that delaying the presidential elections is not far from sight.
