Ata M. Noor’s Peace Plan Inclusive, Comprehensive/ some Politicians have No plan, Grudging against System

Sayed Alireza Mahmoodi, the head of Majma-e Milli Mardom-e Afghanistan says that Ata Mohammad Noor’s plan for comprehensive peace in Afghanistan is the second one which has been presented while some politicians, who have no program, stand beside “Emirate”, grudging with president Ghani, instead of supporting “republic” and offering plan.

Sayed Alireza Mahmoodi, the head of Majma-e Milli Mardom-e Afghanistan says that Ata Mohammad Noor’s plan for comprehensive peace in Afghanistan is the second one which has been presented while some politicians, who have no program, stand beside “Emirate”, grudging with president Ghani, instead of supporting “republic” and offering plan.

Sayed Alireza Mahmoodi, head of Majma-e Milli Mardom-e Afghanistan has said that the plan presented by Ata M. Noor for inclusive peace in the country is a serious effort in the peace process and so far only the presidential palace has put forward a plan in this regard.
“After President Ghani’s remarks in Davos where he made clear that Mr Karzai and Dr. Abdullah as country’s politicians, neither have a program for themselves nor for the peace of Afghanistan. I believe this is a reactionary issue, in response to what the President said in Switzerland, they have come together to say we have a plan for peace while the fact is that the only plan for the peace process was the government’s plan – Mr Ghani. And the other plan was the “comprehensive peace plan for Afghanistan” which was presented by Mr Ata M. Noor a few days ago. We have no other plans yet,” explained Mr Mahmoodi.

Stressing on the importance of plans offered by Mr Noor and Mr Ghani, he added: “so far, no plan has been shared with the press and the Afghan people from the address of Afghan politicians, from the address of executive directorate as one of the pillars of the power, and from the address of Mr Karzai and forces centered around him. They have individually sat with the Taliban or met with some other streams and sought to figure out how to fit into the formula coming ahead, but as the US-Taliban talks halted and the elections were held, they have come together in response to President Ghani’s statements as well as to come up with a plan”.

The peace process and electoral concerns:
Dividing the peace process and the electoral concerns of some teams into two debates, Mr Mahmoodi said that the peace process is directly related to our national interests and should be addressed apart from campaigns and electoral concerns.
“We should keep the Afghan peace process away from the electoral and political rivalries because the peace issue is a matter of national interest to the people of Afghanistan – Afghans, who have lots of problems today – and we need to think of a solution to the Afghan peace process apart from the political concerns. The government’s peace plan has a special timetable and it clearly outlined the context of holding talks, requirements and that the ceasefire must be taken seriously. The difference between the president’s plan with what the politicians say is that our politicians have stood beside the Emirate rather than the system,” he said.

Mr Mahmoodi accused some electoral teams and politicians of exercising personal interests in the peace process and the election, saying that some politicians and electoral tickets – having retaliatory spirit – are pushing to gain power through complicity with the Taliban even if they do not win the elections.

Republic and Emirate:
The country’s political face underlined that currently there are two versions to the peace debate – Republic and Emirate. We must choose one of them and there is no third choice. However, he added that the republic and ceasefire have been put forward by the presidential palace and the government insists on state-centered peace talks.

“Some politicians have stood by Emirate instead of standing beside the government and the Republic, and what comes out of the past two-day meeting of the politicians is that their stances have no difference from the Taliban ones,” he stressed.
It is worth mentioning that Ata M. Noor has recently presented a plan titled “comprehensive peace plan for Afghanistan”, in which it offered solutions to achieving lasting peace, security, and stability.
