Children, Women among Those Injured in Taliban Car Bomb Attack

The Taliban claimed responsibility on Monday night for a car bomb attack near a heavily fortified foreign compound in capital Kabul, that killed at least four people and wounded over 100 others.


The Taliban claimed responsibility on Monday night for a car bomb attack near a heavily fortified foreign compound in capital Kabul, that killed at least four people and wounded over 100 others.

Health Ministry spokesman Wahidullah Mayar said 114 were wounded in Monday evening’s attack.
The blast occurred near the Green Village compound, home to several international organizations. Roads to the area were still blocked by security forces on Tuesday morning.
Interior ministry spokesman Najib Danish said three military personnel and one civilian were killed in the attack, while 12 women and 23 children were among those wounded.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for Taliban group claimed responsibility for the attack.
“Five attackers, including the suicide bomber driving an explosives-laden vehicle, were involved in the attack,” Mujahid said in a statement.
The attack comes as the Interior Ministry has taken news measures to provide the security.
