Head of Hezb-e Islami Reacts Against Hekmatyar

The chairman of Hezb-e Islami Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal warned that Afghanistan had a lot of wounds and needs treatment and that we should be a doctor.
“We will not allow a single person or group to divide ethnic groups in Afghanistan by the order of foreigners and, once again, bring Afghanistan back to the darkness by creating a crisis,” Mr. Arghandiwal said.In response to the recent statement of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and the decision of Hezb-e Islami under his leadership firing three figures of the party, Mr. Arghandiwal said that people of Afghanistan do not tolerate anymore and it is not right to rub salt into their wounds.

The Afghan ministry of justice only recognizes Hezb-e Islami led by Arghandiwal.

“A decade ago, we registered Hezb-e Islami-e Afghanistan with the ministry of justice of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. We operate in the frame of law and continue our activities along with other parties and political movements in an atmosphere of brotherhood and with respect to all opinions and different political ideas,” said part of a statement released by the head of Hezb-e Islami.

Mr. Arghandiwal described the division politics in Afghanistan as disastrous, stressing that he will not allow anyone to put Afghanistan in darkness.
“The political activities of Hezb-e Islami are registered with the ministry of justice and along with other political parties seek the rule of law, freedom of speech, social justice, and equal rights,” he added.

Although, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has traditionally handled the leadership of Hezb-e Islami, according to the law, Hezb-e Islami led by Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal is registered with the ministry of justice.
