Zubair Masood, a former adviser to the national Security Council has said that Daesh group wants to touch Russia, crossing Afghanistan’s borders.
Mr. Masood in an interview with “Al Jazeera” had said that the aim of ISIS is to attack Russia. Quoted from (Sputnik).
“There are scaremongers in Afghanistan who are seen in Syria. They are from different countries including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Chechen,” Masood said.
“Afghanistan is a strategic place for them. They want to reach Russia by passing borders of the country,” he added.
It is noteworthy that the number of ISIS is at least 2 thousands in the north of Afghanistan, according to Zubair Masood, but the ministry of defence claims that there are 600 to 700 Daesh (ISIS) across Afghanistan.
Masood stresses that members of Daesh group entered Afghanistan from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Chechen and intend to target Russia.
Meanwhile, Dawlat Waziri, spokesman for the ministry of defence says, “If chance is given to Daesh group, neighboring countries will be suffered.”
“Such opportunity will not be given to Daesh,” national defence ministry spokesman added.
