Laureates of 10th “Awsana Sisana” Festival Announced

The Ibn-e Sina university hall in Mazar-e Sharif was the host of authors, story-writers and pro literature people under the age of 30 on Thursday 1 March.

The festival is held annually and the Afghan participants can attend from around the world.
“The festival is held every year by “Khana-e Dastan-e Balkh” and is now in its tenth year,” Taqi Wahidi, a referee of the festival told DID press agency.

“Writing stories have not grown the way we wanted, but the tenth “Awsana Sisana” festival has made us more promising; because this year the stories were coherent and had an influential theme,” Mr. Wahidi said.

Three outstanding writers were honored at the festival. Hatef Kabulian won the third place at the festival, Fatema Khawari and Gholam Sakhi jointly the second and Abdullah Salahi ranked first.

“The situation of writing stories has to come out of its cliché and usual face, it should be more honest with the text and readers,” said Abdullah Salahi, the first winner.

“Holding such festivals will encourage the youths but it should focus more on fiction,” Salahi added.

The “Awsana Sisana” festival is held annually by “Khana-e Dastan-e Balkh” sponsored by a storywriter couple Zulmai Baba Kohi and Maryam Mahbob.
