A spokesman for the Pakistani army says its military forces are ready to confront any Washington action against Islamabad.
“In case of [a] US action against Pakistan, it will be responded to [in line with] the aspirations of the people of Pakistan,” said Major General Asif Ghafoor.
This comes as Pakistani foreign minister Khawja Asif had called Trump’s tweet a “political game.”
In a Twitter post on the first day of 2018, US President Donald Trump had accused Pakistan of ‘lying and deceit’ and providing safe havens to terrorists despite taking over $33 billion in aid.
Relations between Islamabad – Washington blurred after US president in his new strategy on Afghanistan and South Asia, accused Pakistan of supporting terrorism.
