Afghan northern Faryab governor Naqibullah Fayiq says that Abdul Aziz son of Taher Yuldash, who was the leader of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan is in Faryab’s Almar district right now and some Taliban commanders support him.

Afghan northern Faryab governor Naqibullah Fayiq says that Abdul Aziz son of Taher Yuldash, who was the leader of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan is in Faryab’s Almar district right now and some Taliban commanders support him.
The governor stressed during a press conference in Kabul on Monday that Tahir Yuldash’s son is in Almar district of Faryab province, who is being supported by some Taliban commanders.
A website run by the central Asian terror group known as the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan announced the death of their leader, Tahir Yuldashev in August 2010.

According to Mr Fayiq, although the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan is on the Taliban side, the group is more prone to Daesh (ISIS-K) than the Taliban.
“Abdul Aziz son of Tahir Yuldash is in Almar district, nationals from Uzbekistan and other countries are there too. Apparently, I am not allowed to name the countries but terrorists from different countries are in Faryab province,” said Naqibullah Fayiq.

Mr Fayiq underlined that in the past six months, Faryab has experienced the worst security situation. He, however, emphasized that now, the Taliban are even unable to collapse a village.
“A new concern for Faryab’s local government is the presence of Tahir Yuldash’s son,” he added.

According to him, Tahir Yuldash’s group has been involved in heavy terrorist attacks on security forces and is training snipers.
A few days ago, General Dostum announced that some members of the Tahir Yuldash family had been arrested by the Taliban in northern Sar-e Pul province.
