Zabihullah Mujahid, who introduces himself as Taliban spokesman said in a statement that the group’s fighters targeted an “American network” in Shahr-e Naw Kabul.

Nusrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior said that clashes are still ongoing near the “Counterpart International organization”.

According to the Interior Ministry, special forces units have arrived at the area and surrounded the attackers.
“Nine wounded have been taken to hospitals,” said Wahid Mayar, a spokesman for Ministry of Public Health.

Kabul Police, meanwhile, said that the exact number of the attackers is not clear yet.
