The state department of Afghanistan says Taliban were not invited to Tashkent meeting set to be held next month.
“The government of Afghanistan and also Uzbekistan did not invited Taliban to Tashkent meeting which is scheduled to be held on 27 March,” said Shakib Mustaghni, the spokesperson for the foreign ministry.
“Only diplomats of regional countries and world were invited to the meeting, in which the mechanism and Afghan peace will be discussed,” he added.
The meeting will be held by the presidents of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan.

The United Nations Secretary-General, representatives of the European Union and foreign ministers from Russia, China, the United States, India, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Central Asian countries will attend the meeting.
