Taliban Released 45 Coal Truck Drivers in Samangan: Police

Taliban group reportedly released 45 truck drivers on Monday after abducting them from Dara-e Suf Payin district in northern Samangan province, provincial police confirmed.


Taliban group reportedly released 45 truck drivers on Monday after abducting them from Dara-e Suf Payin district in northern Samangan province, provincial police confirmed.
The abduction happened in Chapchal area of Dara-e Suf district.

Sediq Azizi, a spokesman for provincial governor, said that the trucks carrying coal were on their way from Dara-i-Suf district to Balkh province when they were stopped by militants.

According to the provincial police, Taliban has asked the drivers to pay money for each delivery of coal from the district.
The provincial council said that the insurgents abducted the drivers due to their refusal to pay money which the Taliban collect as tax.
