According to reports, a group of armed men stormed Catan Baba school in Baticot district Saturday night and put it on fire.
“the gunmen escaped after setting it on fire,” said Nangarhar governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khugyani.
According to him, all parts of the school including the documents and textbooks were burned.
This is the fourth school being put on fire in eastern Nangarhar province by unknown gunmen in a month.
A local resident has that at least 800 students were studying at this school.
No person or group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, but the Taliban and ISIS have previously been responsible for such acts in the country.
