Indian Air Force on High Alert Along Pakistan Border; Tensions Escalate After Border Clashes

DIDPress: Amid escalating tensions with Pakistan, the Indian Air Force has been placed on full alert along the country’s western borders. According to TASS, citing the Times of India, sources in the Indian Air Force Command revealed that air bases in the states of Rajasthan and Punjab are prepared for immediate combat operations.

The report indicates the potential deployment of advanced Rafale fighter jets equipped with “Scalp” air-to-ground cruise missiles, which have a range exceeding 300 kilometers.

This response follows gunfire by Pakistani forces on the night of May 5 at eight points along the Line of Control in Kashmir.

Furthermore, following a deadly attack on April 22 in the Pahalgam sector of Indian-administered Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, Indian media have alleged the involvement of Pakistan’s military intelligence in the incident.

As tensions intensify, both nations have reduced diplomatic presence, suspended agreements, and closed their airspace to each other. Border skirmishes have been confirmed by both sides.
