EU: Afghanistan’s Security is Part of Our Security

DIDPress: Following a humanitarian meeting on Afghanistan, the European Union(EU) announced that empowering youth is a path to sustainable stability.

During the European Humanitarian Forum (EHF2025) on Afghanistan, the Head of the EU Delegation once again reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to Afghanistan’s future.

“Afghanistan’s security is closely linked to Europe’s security. Opportunity creates resilience, and resilience fosters stability,” said the EU in a statement.

“The economic empowerment of youth will lay the foundation for political empowerment of future generations,” the statement added.

Highlighting the EU’s approach, Veronika Boskovic Pohar, the Chargee d’Affaires of the EU Delegation to Afghanistan and one of the speakers at the forum, said “creating opportunities is the best form of support. Initial responses are not enough; we must build sustainable solutions.”

Through multilateral cooperation, the EU aims to create jobs, support the younger generation, and provide a better start for Afghanistan youth.

This approach is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing regional stability by investing in human capacities, particularly the youth.
