Islam Qala and Torghundi Customs Equipped with 80 Surveillance Cameras
DIDPress: Two of Afghanistan’s busiest customs posts, Islam Qala and Torghundi in western Herat province, have been equipped with a total of 80 surveillance cameras.

According to officials, these cameras will soon be connected to a central monitoring system, which is expected to help prevent customs violations and accelerate response to incidents.
Afghanistan Customs Authority said that 51 cameras have been installed at Islam Qala Customs and 29 at Torghundi Customs, and they are already operational.
Once connected to the central control system—as officials have indicated will happen soon—the visual and security data from these border points will be monitored and managed at the national level.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to equip all customs facilities across Afghanistan with standard electronic and surveillance systems. Authorities say the move will significantly ease procedures for citizens, particularly traders.
