DIDPress: Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) launched a large-scale attack on the Olenya airbase in Russia’s Murmansk region.

According to reports, over 40 strategic Russian aircraft, including A-50 early warning and control planes, Tu-95MS long-range bombers, and Tu-22M3 supersonic bombers, were damaged or targeted in the Ukrainian strikes on Russian military sites.
Olenya base, located more than 1,800 kilometers from Ukraine’s borders, is one of the key Russian Air Force hubs for missile operations against Ukrainian territory.
Satellite images taken on May 26, 2025, showed the deployment of 11 Tu-95MS bombers, approximately 40 Tu-22M3 bombers, and several transport aircraft at this base.
The attack follows a series of Ukrainian operations against Russian air infrastructure, including the August 2024 attack on the same base and the March 2025 strike on the Engels airbase.
Detailed information on casualties and the extent of damage has not been released so far, and independent sources have not yet verified these reports.
