Russia Ready to Accept Ambassador from Afghan caretaker Government
DIDPress: In a continued diplomatic move to strengthen ties between Kabul and Moscow, Russia has officially announced its readiness to accept the ambassador proposed by Afghanistan’s caretaker government.

According to the Taliban-led Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Zhirnov, Russia’s envoy to Kabul, met with Amir Khan Muttaqi, Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister.
The meeting was held as part of ongoing follow-ups on previous agreements between the two countries, including understandings reached at the Kazan summit.
During the meeting, Ambassador Zhirnov delivered an official note from the Russian government confirming its acceptance of the Afghan nominee for ambassador to Moscow.
Zhirnov emphasized that Russia is keen to elevate bilateral relations and expand cooperation in economic, political, and cultural spheres.
He hoped that a stronger diplomatic presence would pave the way for more practical cooperation.
Amir Khan Muttaqi welcomed the move, describing it as the beginning of a new chapter in bilateral relations. He reiterated Afghanistan’s readiness for close cooperation with Russia, particularly in economic and trade areas as well as regional affairs.
