Afghan People’s Top Priority This Year: Stable Employment

According to the results of a survey recently conducted by DID Press, the majority of respondents identified securing stable employment with sufficient income as their crucial desire of the year in Afghanistan.

In this survey, participants were asked which single wish they would prioritize if only one could be fulfilled in the coming year.

The responses were as follows:

•  Stable employment with adequate income: 39%
•  Return of girls to school: 28%
•  Migration to a country with a brighter future: 22%
•  Living in a safe and threat-free environment: 11%

The findings of the survey highlight that widespread economic challenges and unemployment remain the primary concerns for the Afghan people.

Meanwhile, 28% of participants named the return of girls to school as their top priority, reflecting a general concern about recent educational restrictions imposed on the younger generation.

In third place, 22% expressed a desire to migrate to a country with a better future, indicating a level of despair among some segments of society regarding improvement in domestic conditions.

Finally, only 11% considered living in a safe and secure environment their most important wish—an issue that may have received less immediate attention due to the normalization of insecurity or the prioritization of economic and educational problems.

This survey offers a realistic snapshot of the priorities within Afghanistan society this year and can serve as a valuable guide for decision-makers, policymakers, and international organizations seeking a deeper understanding of the people’s demands.
