Iran Calls for UNSC Emergency Meeting to Address Israeli Aggressions

DIDPress: The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations has sent an urgent official letter to the President of the Security Council, requesting an emergency session to examine the “clear and coordinated aggressions by the Israeli regime” against Iranian territory.

In this letter, Iran’s representative strongly condemned the recent attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities and senior Iranian military officials, describing these actions as “criminal, provocative, and supported by the United States.” The letter emphasizes that the international community must respond swiftly and decisively to these acts.

“The Israeli regime, in a reckless, illegal, and premeditated manner, has launched a series of coordinated military attacks against the nuclear centers and civilian infrastructure of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” read the letter.

Iran’s mission stressed that these actions not only represent a blatant violation of the UN Charter and fundamental principles of international law but also carry dangerous consequences for regional and global peace and security.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, asserting its legitimate right to defend its territorial integrity, has called on the Security Council to seriously fulfill its responsibility in maintaining international peace and security by responding with appropriate and lawful measures to this aggression.

The request comes amid escalating tensions and military conflicts in the Middle East, raising growing concerns over the potential spread of the crisis beyond the region.
