Afghan Political Leaders Condemn Israeli Attacks on Iran

DIDPress: Following the recent military attack by the Israeli regime on the Islamic Republic of Iran, prominent Afghan political figures and parties have strongly condemned the action and expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and government.

Atta Mohammad Noor, leader of the Jamiat-e-Islami party of Afghanistan, issued a statement expressing deep regret and concern over the attack, describing it as a “clear aggression and blatant violation of Iran’s national sovereignty.”

He emphasized that this provocative act can seriously threaten peace and stability in the region. Noor strongly condemned the aggression and called on the United Nations, international organizations, and independent states worldwide to take a firm and deterrent stance against Israel’s actions.

Referring to the historical, cultural, and human ties between the peoples of Iran and Afghanistan, Noor said: “Iran is not merely a neighbor to the Afghan people; it is a country sharing language and culture, and a host to millions of Afghan refugees who have found refuge there during difficult times.”

He also extended condolences to the families of the victims, recognized Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense, and expressed hope that the region, united in solidarity, would overcome tensions and achieve lasting stability.

Additionally, the Islamic Unity Party of the Afghan People, led by Mohammad Mohaqeq, issued a separate statement condemning the unprecedented and extensive Israeli attack as a “brutal aggression” that resulted in the martyrdom of several Iranian military and scientific figures as well as civilian casualties.

“The attack last Thursday night is a clear violation of international law and the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Our party expresses deep sympathy with the government, nation, and families of the martyrs of this attack,” reads the statement.

The Islamic Unity Party also cited Article 51 of the UN Charter, emphasizing Iran’s right to legitimate self-defense.

These statements reflect the Afghan people’s solidarity with their historic and strategic neighbor Iran in the face of the Israeli regime’s aggressive actions.
