The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran vehemently condemns the barbaric U.S. military aggression against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities—an act that constitutes a blatant and unprecedented violation of the most fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. It holds the warmongering and law-breaking U.S. government accountable for the grave and dangerous consequences of this major crime.
The U.S. military aggression against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of a UN member state—carried out in criminal collaboration with the genocidal Zionist regime—once again exposes the depths of malice and corruption driving U.S. policy, as well as the intense hostility of the U.S. ruling establishment toward the peace-loving and independence-seeking people of Islamic Iran.
The Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right to fully resist U.S. military aggression and the crimes committed by this rogue regime, safeguarding Iran’s security and national interests.
The U.S. attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, carried out on the tenth day of the Israeli regime’s military aggression against Iran, has unequivocally revealed the criminal complicity of the United States with the Zionist regime in planning and executing a military assault against Iran.
This U.S. military attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities not only constitutes a flagrant and unprecedented violation of the UN Charter—particularly Article 2(4), which prohibits the use of force and mandates respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of nations—but also breaches UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and deals a severe blow to the global nuclear non-proliferation regime, all committed by a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
The Islamic Republic of Iran reminds the United Nations, the Security Council, the Secretary-General, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and other relevant international bodies of their urgent responsibility to act against this criminal violation of law. It warns that silence in the face of such blatant aggression will expose the world to unprecedented and widespread danger.
As a founding member of the United Nations, the Islamic Republic of Iran expects the UN and all its responsible members to fulfill their obligations at a time when the world is confronted with a clear breach of international law by the United States.
We call upon the UN Security Council to convene an emergency session, strongly condemn the U.S. act of aggression against Iran, and hold the United States accountable for its flagrant violations of international principles and norms.
