UNICEF: Only 16% of Afghan Children Fully Vaccinated

DIDPress: UNICEF has reported that Afghanistan is among the countries with the highest number of unvaccinated children, with less than 20% of children in the country fully vaccinated.

According to UNICEF’s findings, the vaccination coverage for children in Afghanistan is in a state of crisis, with only 16.2% having received the full course of immunizations. This alarming situation raises serious concerns about the health of future generations in the country.

It is projected that vaccines could save millions of children’s lives between 2021 and 2030.

In addition to the vaccination crisis, the World Food Programme (WFP) has reported widespread malnutrition among Afghan mothers and children, which poses a significant threat to public health.

International support, including contributions from Japan, plays a crucial role in improving the health and well-being of Afghan children.
