To Facilitate Migrant Returns, Herat Governor Meets Iranian Officials
DIDPress: Herat governor met Iranian officials at the zero-point border crossing, where he stressed the need for greater cooperation and coordination to ensure the gradual return of migrants.

Noor Ahmad Islamjar, the governor of western Herat province, along with a delegation of local officials, met Iranian authorities at Iran-Afghanistan border to discuss facilitating the gradual repatriation of migrants and addressing existing challenges.
According to a press release from the Herat Governor’s Office, the bilateral meeting covered key issues, including phased return of migrants, resolving their legal and humanitarian concerns, and establishing necessary facilities for migrants on both sides of the border.
Islamjar expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in managing migrant affairs and emphasized the importance of constructive engagement, good neighborliness, and mutual respect between the two countries.
He further demanded enhanced coordination and collaboration between Herat’s local administration and Iranian officials to better manage the repatriation process.
