DIDPress: Hebrew sources reported that consecutive explosions in northern Gaza Strip, resulted in deaths of at least five Israeli soldiers and injury of 14 others.
The operation, which took place in the Beit Hanoun area, was planned and executed by Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas military wing.
According to a report by RT, the chain attack involved three consecutive explosions: first, an Israeli tank was targeted, then the rescue forces dispatched to assist the wounded when they were hit by two additional blasts.
Hebrew-language sources described the operation as a “highly successful Hamas ambush” and added that several of the wounded are in critical condition.
Following the incident, Benjamin Netanyahu, who was in the U.S. meeting with Donald Trump, cut short his session with the U.S. president’s special envoy to receive updates on the details of the attack.
Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, reacted to the attack, saying: “As long as the aggression continues, the funerals of enemy soldiers will become a routine occurrence.”
Al-Qassam Brigades also released a poster warning: “Expect a series of deadly ambushes in Beit Hanoun!”
