Security Scandal; Individual Impersonates US Secretary of State Using AI

DIDPress: In a serious intelligence scandal, an unidentified individual used artificial intelligence technology to impersonate Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, and contacted three foreign secretaries.

In this recent security breach, the unknown individual succeeded in posing as Marco Rubio and establishing contact with three foreign secretaries from other countries.

The impersonator also communicated with an American governor and a member of Congress.

According to reports, the individual created a fake voice and sent text messages via the Signal messaging app, successfully gaining the trust of several high-ranking officials and inviting them to continue discussions in a virtual environment.

It is believed that the motive behind this impersonation was to gain access to confidential information or personal accounts of these officials.

The U.S. State Department, during the Trump administration, issued a statement confirming that extensive investigations are underway to identify the perpetrator(s) responsible for this misuse.

This incident highlights emerging cyber threats and the use of artificial intelligence in espionage and information warfare, posing significant risks to diplomatic security worldwide.
