Russia Permits Hiring Foreigners Without Documentation in Military

DIDPress: Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing the recruitment of foreign nationals and stateless individuals into the country’s armed forces.

The move aims to strengthen Russia’s military personnel and address troop shortages. According to TASS news agency, the decree introduces amendments to laws concerning military service, conscription, national defense, and the status of armed forces personnel.

Under the new law, foreigners and stateless individuals are permitted to sign contracts for military service until the end of the mobilization period, the termination of martial law, or the conclusion of the war.

The law takes effect immediately after its official publication. An explanatory note accompanying the decree emphasizes that its swift enactment is intended to facilitate urgent measures to replenish the Russian Federation’s military manpower.
