North Korea Pledges Unconditional Support for Russia in Ukraine

DIDPress: Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, explicitly declared his unconditional support for Russia’s stance on the Ukraine crisis during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“North Korea is prepared to fully support and encourage all measures taken by Russia’s leadership to fundamentally resolve the Ukraine crisis, in line with the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty,” he said.

According to North Korean state media, the two sides discussed a wide range of strategic issues and bilateral cooperation during the talks.

“Our two countries share completely identical views on all strategic matters, which reflects the high level of unity between us.” He added, “The coordinated and proactive diplomatic positions of North Korea and Russia can play a positive role in maintaining peace and security in the region and across the world.”

Sergey Lavrov, in turn, praised the outcomes of recent strategic talks between the two countries’ foreign ministers and emphasized, “Russia is determined to strengthen strategic and tactical cooperation with North Korea on the international stage and increase joint actions.”

In another part of the discussion, Kim Jong Un reiterated his unconditional backing for Russia’s position on Ukraine, saying, “North Korea stands ready to support and commend all efforts by Russia’s leadership to address the root causes of the Ukraine crisis within the framework of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”

“We will resolutely support the fundamental interests of both nations and strengthen bilateral relations under any circumstances, regardless of international changes,” he underlined.

Concluding his remarks, Kim Jong Un expressed confidence in Russia’s victory, saying, “I firmly believe that the Russian military and people, under President Putin’s leadership, will undoubtedly achieve victory in defending their nation’s dignity and core interests. I wish great Russia eternal victory and glory.”
