Poll: 71% of Afghanistanis Demand Inclusive Government
A latest poll carried out by DID Press Press News Agency reveals that an overwhelming majority of participants consider the formation of an inclusive government—with the participation of all ethnic groups and political factions—as the first and most crucial step for the Taliban caretaker government to gain international legitimacy.

The poll, which asked, “What should the Taliban’s caretaker government prioritize to gain recognition from the international community?” found that 71% of respondents emphasized the necessity of political inclusivity as the primary requirement.
In second place, 23% of participants identified women’s rights and reopening of girls’ schools as the top priority—an issue repeatedly highlighted by international institutions as a key condition for engagement with the Taliban government.
However, a notable finding in the poll was the lack of support for the option “cutting ties with terrorist groups and complying with international laws.” Despite being a major demand from the global community, this issue received little attention from respondents.
Meanwhile, only 6% of voters stressed the importance of normalizing diplomatic relations with global and regional powers.
These results indicate that Afghan public opinion prioritizes structural changes in power-sharing and genuine participation of ethnic and political groups over foreign relations or symbolic reforms.
