DIDPress: Several members of a group linked to ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K) were idedentified and arrested in Namangan city, reported Uzbek security officials. The group was allegedly organized by a 19-year-old girl who had previously studied in Istanbul.

According to the website “Gazeta.uz,” Uzbekistan’s State Security Service said that 16 individuals were present during a raid on the group’s gathering place. During the operation, authorities seized 37 mobile phones, 51 religious books lacking publisher details, 40 DVDs, 4 flash drives, a laptop, and a tablet.
An official report revealed that the group used its underground meetings to promote the ideology of international terrorist organizations, including advocating for “jihad” and “martyrdom.” One of the group’s key members was identified as the founder of a private university in Namangan.
So far, criminal cases have been filed against the group’s leader and three active members, all of whom remain in custody. Other members of the group are also under interrogation.
Uzbek security officials added that investigations into the group’s potential activities are underway.
