Poll: Taliban’s Support for Returning Refugees Criticized as Symbolic and Inadequate
The continued neglect of returning refugees’ needs could spark a widespread humanitarian crisis in both border and urban areas.

The results of a recent poll conducted by Did Press indicate that a majority of respondents view the Taliban caretaker government’s support for Afghanistan returnees from Iran and Pakistan as highly limited and largely symbolic.
According to the online poll:
Only 13% of participants said the government has provided “adequate and effective” support.
37% believe the assistance has been “very limited and symbolic.”
Another 37% indicated that some basic services have been made available to returnees.
Meanwhile, 13% said there has been no support at all.
These figures come amid the ongoing forced return of thousands of Afghanistan migrants from Iran and Pakistan each day. Economic hardship, lack of shelter, and unemployment remain among the most pressing challenges facing this vulnerable population.
Migration experts warn that the continued failure to address the essential needs of returnees could lead to a large-scale humanitarian crisis in both border regions and major cities.
