German Interior Minister: Europe Seeks Coordinated Deportation of Afghan Migrants Accused of Crimes

DIDPress: Alexander Dobrindt, Germany’s Interior Minister, announced the possibility of increased deportations of Afghan migrants accused of crimes from European countries. Speaking at an informal meeting of EU interior ministers in Copenhagen, he noted that Germany’s recent action of deporting Afghan criminal migrants to Afghanistan has drawn the attention of other EU member states.

Dobrindt stated: “The deportation of Afghan criminal migrants carried out by Germany has garnered significant attention from some European countries, and they are now looking to join this process.

“According to him, EU member states are exploring joint mechanisms to implement coordinated deportations from Europe to Afghanistan.

These remarks follow Germany’s second deportation of a group of Afghan migrants accused of criminal offenses to Afghanistan since the Taliban’s takeover, an action that has sparked widespread reactions both within and outside Germany.

In a related development, some reports indicate the arrival of Taliban representatives in Germany to coordinate the deportation process, raising a wave of human rights concerns and criticism in European circles.

Experts view these developments as a sign of increasingly stringent European immigration policies toward Afghan migrants, particularly amid growing political and social pressures in host countries.
