Poll: Migration Crisis in Shadow of Silence; People Demand Global Action
DID Press: Following intensified pressures and restrictions against Afghanistan migrants in neighboring countries, especially Pakistan and Iran, Did Press conducted a poll to ask its audience about the most effective solution to protect the rights and dignity of these migrants.

Poll Result
Option A: Establishing an international mechanism to monitor countries’ treatment of migrants
Received the most support with 34 percent of the votes. This result shows that a large portion of respondents emphasize the role of international institutions such as the U.N. and the High Commissioner for Refugees in requiring countries to respect the rights of migrants.
Option B: The silence and indifference of the international community are the main factors behind the migration crisis
This option came in second place with 32 percent of the votes. By choosing this option, participants criticized the lack of an effective international response to the violation of migrants’ rights and held the international community responsible for the critical situation of Afghanistan migrants.
Option C: Opening borders and providing asylum in safe countries
With 22 percent support, this option expresses the hope of a group of respondents for the role of safe countries in accepting refugees and providing them with safe living conditions.
Option D: Voluntary return of refugees with security and livelihood guarantees
Only 11 percent of voters considered this solution effective. The low rate indicates distrust in security and economic guarantees for returning to Afghanistan.
