Iran Wants Compensation from US; Negotiations Only with Security and Financial Guarantees

DID Press: Iranian Foreign Minister Sayed Abbas Araqchi announced that a return to nuclear talks will only be possible if US gives compensation and security guarantees.

In a conversation with US Special Representative Steve Witkoff, Sayed Abbas Araqchi wanted an explanation from Washington about the attack on Iran during the recent 12-day war and emphasized: “The US must compensate for the damages and guarantee that such actions will not be repeated.”

Saying that the path of diplomacy has not yet been closed, Araqchi clarified that the continuation of talks is conditional on real confidence-building measures from the US, including financial compensation and providing guarantees to prevent an attack during the negotiations.

He also emphasized Iran’s principled position on its peaceful nuclear program and added: “The Islamic Republic is ready to reconstruct nuclear facilities and continue enrichment, but the timing depends on the circumstances.”

Referring to America’s past renegades, Araqchi said, “As long as Washington wants a complete halt to enrichment, there will be no negotiations
