Dormant for Five Centuries, Russia’s Krasheninnikov Volcano Erupts Violently
DID Press: Krasheninnikov volcano, located on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, erupted on August 3 after lying dormant for approximately 500 years.

In this rare geological event, massive plumes of ash soared 5 to 6 kilometers into the sky and were dispersed up to 75 kilometers eastward.
Local authorities have issued warnings that ongoing volcanic activity may disrupt regional air traffic.
The volcano’s last recorded eruption occurred in the 15th century, and it had remained inactive until now.
