Turkmenistan to Expand Torghundi Port Using Afghanistani Workforce
DID Press: Turkmenistan reportedly wants to begin the work on expanding Torghundi Port in western Afghanistan ahead of schedule, with all labor to be sourced locally from Afghanistani workers.

The announcement was made during a visit to Herat province by a delegation from Turkmenistan’s Railway Authority, led by Qurbanov Sardar, head of the country’s Joint-Stock Railway Agency.
In talks with Noor Ahmad Islamjar, the acting governor of Herat province, the delegation outlined plans for constructing new hangars and upgrading the port’s infrastructure. They also requested Herat’s local authorities support to facilitate the project’s implementation.
Officials say the expansion is expected to boost economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan while creating much-needed job opportunities for Afghanistan people
