Drones Spotted Over Eastern Afghanistan Amid Government Silence and Public Concern
DID Press: Multiple unidentified drones were observed flying at low altitudes over the eastern Paktia and Khost provinces on Wednesday, sparking widespread concern among local residents. Taliban’s caretaker government is silent regarding the issue.

Local sources in Paktia province reported that several drones were seen hovering for hours over the provincial capital and various districts. Flying at low altitude, their prolonged presence alarmed many in the community.
Eyewitnesses say the purpose and origin of the drones remain unknown. So far, no official response or clarification has been issued by the Taliban authorities or any other government body.
This event follows previous reports of Pakistani fighter jets patrolling Paktia’s airspace, contributing to growing fears of escalating military activity along Afghanistan’s eastern frontier.
Meanwhile, similar drone sightings were reported in Khost province, where local sources confirmed the aircraft had been flying for hours over Khost city and surrounding areas. These drones, too, were observed at low altitudes and drew significant attention from residents.
The eastern provinces—particularly Paktia, Khost, and Nangarhar—have recently been frequent sites of militant activity and suspected aerial operations. Their shared border with Pakistan remains a hotspot for tension, routinely witnessing armed clashes and military movements
