Returning Migrants Face Uncertain Future
DID Press: Following a massive wave of Afghanistani migrants returning from neighboring countries, thousands of returnees are now living in temporary camps in capital Kabul.

With the accelerated return of migrants from neighboring nations, Kabul’s temporary camps have in recent weeks become home to thousands of Afghanistan citizens, who-after years of living in Iran and Pakistan- have now returned to their homeland.
According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), more than 1.5 million migrants have been sent back from Iran and Pakistan to Afghanistan so far this year — a figure that has heightened fears of a new humanitarian crisis.
Many of these returnees, who spent years abroad, now face life in their homeland without shelter, employment, or hope for the future. As winter approaches, they are urgently calling on the caretaker government and the international community for immediate assistance
