Afghanistan Faces Heavy Rainfall, Flash Floods in 8 Eastern Provinces

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Meteorology Department of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation issued a warning on Saturday, August 16, that heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, strong winds, and dust storms could trigger flash floods across several eastern provinces.

The provinces considered most at risk include Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Logar, Khost, Paktia, and Paktika.

Authorities have urged residents in these areas to take necessary precautions and avoid travel along flood-prone routes, riverbanks, and steep mountainous slopes.
