School Pre-Registration Opens for Foreign National Students in Iran
DID Press: Iranian Ministry of Education announced the commencement of pre-registration for foreign national students residing in Iran for the 2025–2026 academic year. The process is open to students entering the first, seventh, and tenth grades.

Applicants can complete the pre-registration procedure by visiting the Ministry’s official website at my.medu.ir and accessing the unified electronic services portal, following the provided guidelines.
The Ministry has emphasized that submitting a referral letter from the provincial Offices of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs is a mandatory requirement for the registration of foreign national students. The registration process involves logging into the system, selecting the pre-registration option, choosing the appropriate grade level, and providing identity and residency information.
Ali Farhadi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, said that this year only students with legal residence permits are eligible to register. Undocumented migrants, in accordance with government policy, will not be included in the registration process.
The government is working to regularize undocumented migrants and facilitate their return to their countries of origin, and that school registration is being carried out within this policy framework, Farhadi added.
“More than 650,000 foreign national students are currently studying free of charge in Iranian schools,” underlined Alireza Kazemi, Minister of Education, Highlighting the significance of foreign national students in Iran.
