Torkham Prepared to Receive Third Wave of Afghan Deportees from Pakistan
DID Press: Local officials in Torkham say that hundreds of families cross the border daily, with temporary camps set up to accommodate thousands.

With the beginning of the third wave of Afghan deportations from Pakistan, Torkham authorities announced that full preparations have been made to receive the returnees.
In the Omari refugee camp, more than 1,500 tents have already been installed, and 12 service committees have started operating.
According to Mohammad Hashim Maiwandwal, the camp director, additional facilities will be provided if needed.
Zahedullah Zahed, head of the service committee, stated that between 150 to 200 families enter the country daily, with food services available for 1,500 to 2,000 people.
Bakht Jamal Gohar, head of refugee transportation, reported that around 30,000 people have entered Afghanistan through Torkham in the past week.
