Herat Industrial Town Employs 5,000 Returning Migrants
DID Press: 5,000 returning migrants have been employed in western Herat’s industrial town, announced provincial Chamber of Industries and Mines.

According to Naser Amin, head of the chamber, the first phase of the initiative aims to create 10,000 jobs across factories and production units.
He noted that several manufacturing companies have also expressed plans to expand recruitment, offering further opportunities for returning migrants.
Officials say the program is designed to support reintegration of returnees while strengthening the production capacity of Herat’s industrial sector—a development expected to contribute significantly to Afghanistan’s economic growth.
