DID Press: Following a meeting with European leaders at the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that preparations are underway for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as the location to be determined at a later date.

“We had a very productive session, and I’ve been in contact with Putin. Arrangements have begun for his meeting with Zelensky. After this meeting, a trilateral summit with me, Putin, and Zelensky will take place,” Trump said.
According to him, Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and U.S. Special Envoy Victor Witkoff, are responsible for coordinating the necessary arrangements with Moscow and Kyiv.
The White House meeting with European leaders also included consultations on security guarantees for Ukraine, in cooperation with European countries, Trump added.
Meanwhile, Agence France-Presse reported that Putin told Trump he is ready to meet with Zelensky. Although the timing and venue of the summit remain uncertain, some sources have suggested the meeting could take place by the end of the month.
These developments coincided with Zelensky’s official visit to Washington on Monday. After meeting with Trump at the White House, the Ukrainian president described the outcome as positive, saying the US supports the idea of a trilateral summit.
Zelensky emphasized that the issue of disputed territories between Russia and Ukraine will be addressed directly with Putin. “This matter will be discussed solely between me and Putin. I will personally tell him which territories I am willing to cede,” he said.
“Ukraine is not insisting on a ceasefire as a precondition for negotiations. We need a genuine peace agreement, not merely a temporary halt to the war,” he added.
According to Zelensky, the United States will also play a role in providing security guarantees for Ukraine as the details of such agreements expected to be finalized within the next ten days.
