Afghanistan Makes Historic Futsal Debut at Islamic Solidarity Games
DID Press: Afghanistan’s national futsal team is set to make its official debut at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, taking place from November 6 to 20, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Nasir Sadaqat, manager of the national futsal team, confirmed that Afghanistani players will participate in the tournament for the first time. This edition of the Games will bring together 57 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, with futsal included in the official competition program for the first time.
The futsal matches will be held at Green Hall 1 in Riyadh, featuring eight selected teams. Alongside futsal, the Games will feature 21 other sports, including athletics, swimming, volleyball, weightlifting, karate, judo, handball, and 3×3 basketball.
While the full list of participating teams has yet to be announced, Afghanistan is expected to compete alongside the sport’s regional powerhouses. The team’s historic participation offers a valuable opportunity to showcase Afghanistan’s futsal talent on the international stage.
