Clash on Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border Leaves One Dead, Four Wounded
DID Press: An armed clash between Taliban administration forces and Tajik border guards in Afghanistan’s northern Badakhshan province left one fighter dead and four others wounded, said local sources on Wednesday.

The confrontation took place two days ago in the Davang area along the Amu River in Shahr-e-Buzurg district, where Taliban forces reportedly advanced into the area and began gold extraction operation. Tajikistan border forces responded with heavy weapons, eyewitnesses said.
Neither the Taliban administration nor Tajik authorities have issued an official statement to confirm or deny the incident. Due to limited access to the remote border region, it is hard to verify the details independently.
Analysts warn the incident can signal growing tensions along the border, particularly in areas where mineral resources and strategic control are at stake.
