Mersad: ISIS-K Defeated following US Withdrawal from Afghanistan

DID Press: Mersad, a media outlet linked to the Taliban’s intelligence services, claims that ISIS-K (Islamic State Khorasan) group was swiftly eradicated after the last U.S. troops left Afghanistan.

The outlet reported that ISIS-K, which had been fostered to justify continued foreign presence, could not survive without its external backers.

According to Mersad, four years after the U.S. exit, Afghanistan has demonstrated the failure of America’s mission, highlighting the determination of the Afghanistan people to resist occupiers.

The U.S., after two decades of war and heavy financial and human losses, was forced to withdraw from Afghanistan.

The report also emphasized that no foreign force or affiliated group can dominate the will and faith of the Afghanistan people, and any attempts to create instability are doomed to fail.

A deputy spokesperson for the Taliban’s caretaker government described the U.S. withdrawal as “one of the most important historical events,” attributing it to twenty years of Afghanistan resistance and sacrifice.
