30 Children Die in Kunduz Measles Outbreak
DID Press: Health authorities in Afghanistan’s northern Kunduz province reported an unprecedented rise in measles cases as 30 children died in the first four months, this year.

Mujib-ur-Rahman Sadat, head of the Administrative and Health Information System at Kunduz Public Health Directorate, said that during this period, 4,336 children were treated at health centers across the province.
He noted that measles cases rised significantly compared to the same period last year.
He confirmed around 30 deaths at local health facilities.
Sadat attributed the surge to missed vaccinations, low public awareness about the dangers of measles, and some parents’ reluctance to vaccinate their children on time.
