US Deploys F-35 Jets to Puerto Rico Amid Fears of Possible Strike on Venezuela

DID Press: Amid rising tensions between Washington and Caracas, the Trump administration has deployed 10 F-35 fighter jets to air bases in Puerto Rico, reported CNN.

The White House described the move as part of operations against drug cartels in the Caribbean region. However, informed sources say President Trump is weighing “multiple options,” including potential military strikes inside Venezuela.

In response, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro dismissed US allegations linking his country to drug trafficking as “baseless,” comparing them to the claims once made about Iraq’s so-called weapons of mass destruction.

Maduro warned such accusations must not be used as a pretext for starting a “fratricidal war” in the region, stressing that the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean seek peace.
