Full-Time Services Offered for Voluntary Repatriation of Afghanistani Migrants in Tehran
DID Press: Acting head of Iran’s General Directorate of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs in Tehran announced that full-time services and facilities have been made available at the Khavaran Return Center to support the voluntary repatriation of Afghanistani migrants.

Vahid Gholi-Kani, acting head of the directorate, said that with the expiration of census registration cards and the relative improvement of security and social conditions in Afghanistan, all Afghanistani migrants – both those holding census cards and those without valid documents – may visit Khavaran Return Center at any time of day or night, either individually or with their families.
He emphasized that the services are operating around the clock to facilitate a smooth and reassuring return process. “The aim is to encourage voluntary repatriation, not to impose pressure or coercion,” he added.
According to official figures, more than 1.2 million Afghanistani migrants have already left Iran, and additional 800,000 people will be expected to join this repatriation process by the end of the year.
