Aftermath of Kirk’s Murder: WH Requests $58M for Protection of Officials

DID Press: Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a prominent right-wing activist and supporter of US President Donald Trump, White House has requested an additional $58 million from the U.S. Congress to enhance security measures for officials of the executive and judicial branches.

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed on Wednesday while delivering a speech at the University of Utah in Orem. The conservative activist, a known Trump supporter, reportedly played a significant role in former president’s last election campaign.

Tyler Robinson, 22, the suspect in the killing, was arrested on the evening of September 11. He was handed over to authorities by his father, who claimed that his son had confessed to him.
